Over the past week, Janie and I have both been able to secure jobs! They’re nothing to write home about…oh, I guess I am. Oh well… I am working 3 days a week doing groundskeeping at the corporate offices of a local company. Janie is working full time at a marketing business (promo stuff for businesses). And we are going to share her current job as secretary at Walnut Hill PCA (I will cover office hours for her on Thursdays and Fridays and get some of her work done – and then she will be in on Tuesday evenings and Saturdays to finish up. I also am going to be editing a book for the Christian Medical and Dental Association (Proverbs for Leaders) – and hopefully that will lead to other work in the future.
Tomorrow we will be making the final move out of our house here in Kingsport. We will be moving in with the Leuzingers for the month of August. They just bought a house and are doing a lot of renovations to it before they move in at the end of August. When they move to their house at the end of August, we will stay on and rent the house where they are currently living (it is near the Bristol Motor Speedway).
A week from Monday, I will be heading up to Iowa with Caleb and Philip to get them settled in at Dordt. And school starts for the other kids a week from tomorrow.
So…crazy and wild around here. Thanks for all your prayers for us. We will continue to need them in the days of busy transition ahead.

No, the house is a rental. We managed to get everything finished on the old house today. Exhausted, but glad to be done. This house is a double wide prefab on a full basement – so it is actually quite huge – with 7 bedrooms and 3 separate living areas. After the Leuzingers move out, there will be plenty of room for traveling guests! Though it is quite close to the Bristol Motor Speedway, it sits off the road in 22 acres – wooded and private.
Wow, that sounds really nice! Can’t wait to see it and visit!
