This afternoon I will be leaving with some people from church to go to Minnesota. We will be going to the Red Lake Reservation, where people from the Ojibwa tribe reside. We will be assisting a local church with an overnight Bible camp, which will be similar to VBS, but we will stay with the kids in cabins. Our church has sent a team for this Bible camp for the past 10 years. The actual camp starts on Monday and ends Thursday night. Then on Friday we will make our way back to St. Louis.
One of my jobs during this trip is to lead worship. I am excited about this opportunity to use the musical abilities God has given me to bless others, but also somewhat nervous. I am also looking forward to interacting with the kids. I have read and have been told that many of these kids do not get much attention from their parents. Please keep me in your prayers during this next week. Pray that I would be able to be a light and an encouragement to the kids, and also their parents/gaurdians ( on Thursday we will host a family dinner ).
