Kristen’s Health Update

by Kristen on July 1, 2013

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for praying for us while I was in the hospital the other week with kidney stones. I went in two weeks ago on Tuesday after noon and came home that Friday night. My in-laws were providentially already planning to visit with us that week and were able to help take care of the kids/house/meals while I was in the hospital and for the first couple of days I was home recovering. The doc said the two kidney stones were of such a size(8 & 9mm) that there was only a 20% chance of them passing on their own. Friday morning they put a stent in to relieve the pressure, which immediately took away the kidney pain. After going off the pain meds, I developed a migraine that lasted 4 or 5 days. Tylenol helped sometimes. Last week was a recovery week for me, but I felt steadily better day by day. Now I only have regular 3rd trimester pains to deal with. 🙂 Last Friday I also had my 3hr. glucose test. Not sure what the results are yet. Prepared for the worst, but hoping for the best. This week I will be making/drinking an herbal remedy that Grandma Judy sent me that is supposed to dissolve kidney stones. The doc’s plan for the stent/kidney stones is to have the stent taken it out a couple of weeks after the baby is born and also help break up the stones at that point. It would be wonderful, though, to find out that the stones are already gone without me having to pass them at all!

I hope the remedy works! It would be great to not have to mess with it anymore after the baby comes.
