Mixed Blessings Came on March 18

by Jannylynn on March 20, 2009

On March 18 – this past Wednesday, David’s promotion was announced at work.  This is it:

I’m pleased to announce the promotion of David Churchill to the role of Director, Ingersoll Rand University (IRU) Leadership and General Management College.  In this role, David is responsible for all IRU leadership education for Ingersoll Rand.  David will report directly to me.

David joined Ingersoll Rand in November 2007 as a Senior Curriculum Manager in the IRU Leadership and General Management College.  David has over 22 years experience in providing strategic leadership education for organizations such as B.F. Goodrich, Seagate Technology, and Bank of America. David is currently completing his Doctorate degree dissertation on Leadership Training Program Effectiveness.  He holds an MBA and an MS in Organization Development.

So CONGRATULATIONS TO DAVID !

Then, later that day, just before he left work for home, the “Table of Contents” on his work computer BLEW UP! All of David’s work was on the computer.  At this moment it seems that MOST of his work is gone.  He is very overwhelmed at this turn of events.  Please pray for him…and for his computer.  Pray that he can view this as another opportunity to trust God, and that more information might be saved from his computer.  Even what they have saved they don’t know if it will be formatted correctly…so really, everything might be lost.  Thank you.

congratulations – and I will be praying! Remember – God knew it was going to blow up – it’s all part of his plan. So go with it and see what he has in mind for you.

I am so happy about your promotion, Uncle David! Was this work that got lost related only to his dissertation, or work he had done for Ingersoll Rand?

Seth, it was all of his work for work. Actually, his dissertation stuff is all on his home computer.

Congratulations! And I think they should be able to retrieve the data. We’ll pray to that end.

Thanks. The IT people told me that they retrieved a little over half of my data, but none of my archived Outlook email.

I’m a bit late with things but rejoice with you on your promotion. This is fitting recognition for the talents and abilities you have. Praise the Lord.
