Christmas ’07

by Audrey on December 17, 2007

How is everyone’s Christmas going? Does anyone have particular plans? We are staying at home. I am pretty sure we will play ping pong, eat, watch some movies. I hope also to use the frisbee golf some of you set up in our yard. Oooo, and we are also thinking about clearing out the fire pit and having a bomb fire.

We pretty much have our house decorated, and it is so cozy!

We are hoping to roast chestnuts. Does anyone know how to do it?

I’ve never roasted chestnuts. We are all decorated too. We are also planning to stay home for Christmas. We will most likely watch movies as well, and play ping pong and other games. Oh yes, we will eat too. James just finished up his college math class today. His mid-term for Latin is Wednesday. He’s also still trying to get to the mid-term in his U.S. History class. Linnea wrote an essay today about Christmas and will read it to the family on Christmas morning. Emily is trying to get caught up on some science and spanish, since she has had so much to do for humanities. Yesterday we had high winds here and lost some trees. Today we had 6 or 7 trees cut down. All but 1 were dead. The other one looked like it could fall over any minute. Oh, we may also look into going to the mountains to sled (tube) after Christmas.

I am working out this week, then flying to Philly via Charlotte. I will spend Friday night with Adam and Kristen, then go with them to meet up with mom and dad. I am certain that we will play games, watch movies, and eat as well. I will be returning to Chatt on Christmas day though, so we will have to do all out celebrating Christmas eve.

Nathan, do you have much of a layover in Charlotte? If you do, maybe we could meet you for supper or lunch or whatever.

I do not have much of a layover on the way out – only 40 minutes. I hope it is enough time to land and make it to the next gate.
On the way back on 12/25, it is a bit longer – almost 2.5 hours, arrivng 3:38 and leaving at 6.

We will be at home for Christmas Day. Judy’s gang will be here for dinner, all except Debbie. She and family will be in Ohio with Eric’s family. We have also invited some single fellows from the church. We trust that all of you have a good time. Dad &Judy

Since this is a post Christmas post I trust all had a good celebration of our Lord’s arrival in human form. Nathan’s description was right on, although we didn’t watch a movie until after he left Christmas Day. (We watched “The Day After Tomorrow”, has anyone seen this dramatic portrayal of a climatic doomsday?) Most of all we celebrated with one another and ate all manner of good foods and sweets! I was thinking I’d work a half day on Monday but as it turned out I only came in for an hour and left. It was so hard to get into a work mentality. wb

Uncle Woody, I have seen “The Day After Tomorrow” and thought it was an interesting movie. The most interesting plot line to me was the fact that the doomsday was caused by global warming (for those of you who may not have seen the movie, I’m not ruining it for you, since this is established early on in the movie 🙂 )
