Rocky had surgery late last week to have a golf-ball-sized cancer taken out of his leg. The doc said it looked suspicious (that it may be malignant) and that we’d have the pathology late this week. He won’t sit still even though he is supposed to for 14 days. I asked the vet what kind of sedatives he would get to keep him still for 14 days… None. So, he tore it open last night. More surgery today. Janice is spending most of her waking moments (and sleep time) trying to keep him still. The rest of us are trying to help out as time permits. Pray that his leg will heal soon. Keeping him still is like pushing rope uphill.

Wow, sounds like a lot of work to keep him still. Poor Rocky! I will pray for you all.
Thanks.
I’ll be praying, too!
our neighbor has a boxer that looks alot like Rocky…the kids think of Rocky when we see him. praying that he is OK!
I ended up taking him back again today to the vet. It was still an open wound. The vet said it was starting to heal as an open wound. So he taped it all up good and put a catheter in the bandage and said to put honey in it every day to keep bacteria from growing.
Wow–I only recently learned that honey is antibacterial. Quite amazing. Does it hurt Rocky to put the honey in?
I have also recently learned that honey contains a…bacteria(?) or something…that makes it potentially fatal for children under the age of two. Working at a hospital is quite an education 😀
I’m glad that Rocky is beginning to heal
We will be praying for Rocky and for you all as well.
