At the Tivoli

by Audrey on October 15, 2007

The Tivoli is the fine arts performance building of Chattanooga. For my Musical Style class we have to go to four different concerts and do a performance report on each one of them. On Thursday, I went to a concert at the Tivoli called “Rhapsody in Blue,” by George Gershwin. I really, really enjoyed the concert–both the music at the performance. Here is my report if you would like to read it….it is only 2 pages long. There were, to my surprise, 3 other musical compositions performed.

I like concerts! I bet it was nice. Was it piano, or orchestra?

Both piano and orchestra for the last two concerts, namely, “Rhapsody in Blue” and “New World A-comin'”

Just orchestra for the first two.

Your report was interesting. I wish I knew more about how to interpret music.

Thank you. I am so glad the music comes alive in the words!

I LOVE rhapsody in blue. I’ve always wanted to play it on piano. I have the music actually… really intense!
