Creating Tables

by Gary on October 4, 2007

Creating tables is not easy on this blog, unless you happen to know the html language. As far as I know Micah and I are the only ones in the Waldecker clan who know how to use it. So I’ve found another way to create tables that everyone can use. But it only works in posts, not in comments. Below is a video showing you how to do it. If you want the written version, look below the video. And below that is an example table that I created using this method.

Written Instructions:

1. Click on “Create Table” under the links section on the left of the blog

2. Type in a title for the table

3. Choose how many rows and columns you want. The first row will be formatted as a header row by default.

4. Click “Create Table”

5. A new table, with the name you chose, will appear in the list of tables. Click on its “Edit” link.

6. Fill in the content of your table. You can change the width of the columns if you want.

7. Click on “Update”

8. This will reveal the name in brackets that you will need to type in your post in order for the table to show up. It will look something like this, but the x will be a number. You can just copy it and paste it if you want: [Table=x]

9. Create your post and type the [Table=x] that corresponds to your table in the post.

[Table=5]

Make sure that you include the brackets when you type the table name in your post.

For example:

“[table=5]” instead of “table=5”

You will now find in the Post toolbar a button that allows you to insert into your post any table you have already created.
