interpreter training canceled

by micah on February 7, 2006

Well, the interpreter training class that I and my mom were registering for was canceled. Aparently we were the only two people registered for that class. This is the course that Erlanger hospital had its interpreters take and which I would need to take within a year (if I were to be hired). So, I was somewhat disappointed when the course was canceled (thought one of the Erlanger interpreters said this course was boring because it only dealt with the ethics of interpreting).

BUT, it turns out that there is another course on the technique and practice of Spanish medical interpreting. That starts Februrary 18, and would be much more beneficial to me, I think. Not only is the course cheaper, I can probably still get a scholarship. So, God knew what he was doing all along, and it looks like I’ll be going to this training course instead.

I’m glad you finally found the right course. We look forward to seeing you! What are the hours of the course?

I’m not actually sure what the hours are – I sent an email out today requesting this information. I’ll let you know as soon as I can.

Oh, it’s so wonderful to see how God works in ways we can’t understand at first! Andrea
