Egestorf

After Waldeck I went to visit a friend who lives in a village on the outskirts of Hamburg. We had so much fun! We went to a bare foot park, walked through the small village, went to her grandparents’ garden…it was such a lovely place!

This statue of Luther was very interesting to me. I find his position curious. He is looking in one direction and pointing in the other. My friend pointed out to me that he is pointing in the direction of the evangelical church in the village. I later remembered that the direction he is looking is also the direction of the Catholic church. Interesting…The fact that there is both an Evangelical and Catholic church in one village is rare. My friend's dad pointed out that the Catholic church was built because of the refugees who came from the East during the war.

The barefoot park looks like a lot of fun–what an interesting barrage of sensations it must be to move from surface to surface! How did you get your feet lean at the end?
