Here I will keep pictures of the progress of building our house. I will add to it each week.

Below is a picture of the beginning of the foundation. I think they might be called “footings”

1-1-07 Building Materials Arrive/Foundtion is sealed:

1-5-07: this week they began construction of the garages and the floor joists.

1-9-07 By last Friday the First Floor was framed and on Monday they put up the floor joists for the second floor

1-9-07 Today they are almost finished with the second floor. In the foreground to the right are the roof trusses, which will go up next. They put those up with a crane so I hope I can catch when they do that. The crew got a kick out of getting in the picture.

1-11-07: The house looked like this all day yesterday and this morning when I walked Rocky.

1-11-07: I had wanted to get a picture of the crane lifting the trusses to the roof, but I missed it. When the girls and I walked Rocky after lunch it was all done.

1-14-07 On Friday and Saturday they roofed the house and put a black sealing compound on the bottom of the foundation brick.

1-14-07 Here is a picture taken from the opposite corner of the house.

1-17-07 A plastic seal is put on the wood and the plumbers lay pipes

1-22-07: Windows and Doors are put in.

2-5-07 Bricks and Mortar Arrived today.

2-7-07: Today they began bricking the house. I see from the picture that they have put up some insulation in the garage. We have not gone in the house in a while because it is so muddy.

Progress on the brick laying
2-20-07 The brick is almost completed
Below is the backyard
Below: They washed the house and finished putting in the septic, which went in the front as well as the back. Much to our dismay they took out more trees in the front yard for the septic. It looks bare. We still have quite a lot in the back, though and I think they are finished with the septic system.

They have painted and put in the staircase spindles.
Below: They poured the driveway and sidewalks today (3-14-07)
Below: they added the support columns to the front porch (3-14-07)

simply amazing 😯
They did quite a bit on our house today. They poured concrete and put up the columns on the porch. I also heard pounding inside all daY, but I don’t know what that was. Maybe I’ll get a chance to look tomorrow. I got an update on closing….end of April.
They added the sod. I’ll try to get a better picture since they are totally done with it now and have cleaned up the mess.
it’s all looking VERY good!
Quite an amazing process to watch.
that is sooooooooooo cool!
I posted another picture of the grass finished.
Did they put those plants in up against the house? Did you choose them? It looks like a nice place to live. 🙂
Were you all thinking about not having one of the staircases? I see from one of the pictures that maybe you decided you wanted it after all!
We did not choose the plants, but they are nice. We decided to keep the staircase. I can’t remember why, now, but well, its there.
Marvelous. 😛
I added 4 new pictures.
It looks like a home to me!Did you just put the shed in?
Yes, we put the shed in a just before we moved in. I painted it last week. James, Emily and Linnea even did some painting. They did a great job.
A very nice home. And I like the shed.
It all looks very good. I really like the bookshelves, and the shed is very nice too.
It looks great from afar
