Lafayette Georgia

On Monday we sent the owner of the house we’ve looked at several times an offer and that night they accepted it! Sharon, Katie, and I are looking forward to the beginning of a new adventure and I’m sure it will be one. The house is an older home but very well maintained. After talking with David several weeks ago we were bold to ask the owners to leave for us some outdoor furniture, the riding lawn mower, and a ford tractor from the 1950’s. They agreed with the exception of the porch swing and one other piece of furniture.
Sharon and I have been looking for a place that will provide space for gardening (or small scale farming) to include raising chickens and someday beef. There is plenty of space for us to do this. We don’t move into the property until end of June or early July. Praise the Lord for He answers prayers and considers his servants.

Congratulations! That’s great news! I am glad you felt comfortable enough to ask for some of the items as a part of the purchase. 15 acres sounds like a lot of fun.

This is Sharon logged in as Woody. The latest on the property as of yesterday is that the underwriter says the VA will require that ALL structures on the property be inspected for termites and of course pass inspection or be fixed. This includes the smokehouse, the barn, and the corncrib all of which are over 100 years old! The house was inspected and is fine, but we’ll have to see what happens now. It looks as though we won’t be closing in 7 days.

It’s exciting that you’re only 7 days away.

This is Sharon again. Woody said it looked like both realtors were going to be able to work this out.
