Most of you know this already, but I’ll be going to Germany this summer! I will be leaving May 31 and coming back on July 25. I am so thankful for this opportunity! I prayed a lot about it, decided it was not financially possible and told the department secretary of my decision. She said, “Why don’t you meet with the head of the department first.” So I did and he offered me a $6000 grant to go to Germany this summer! I will take two German courses for a total of 6 weeks, and for two weeks I will be traveling to visit friends. On one weekend Seth and I will go to Bunde, Germany, which is where great-great grandfather Thije lived before homesteading in SD! I also plan on seeing the Waldeck castle 😉
