She Said Yes!

Greetings!  I hope everyone’s enjoying this beautiful fall weather!

As for me, this has been one of the best falls ever: I recently proposed to Rennah, and she said YES!  I had decided about a month or so ago to start planning a proposal for Saturday, October 18 (a weekend we were both free).  I wanted to propose to her at a place that was special to us, and I wanted to surprise her.  So, I set up the proposal as a faux photo shoot: i.e., she thought she was going to model for a photo shoot from my friend Stephen Byrum (the producer of our music video) at the field where he shot our music video (where Rennah and I first started really getting to know one another).  I had set up the field with lanterns, a bench, and a vase of roses, and the weather turned out to be perfect!  Stephen did his photo shoot for about 15 minutes before he “ran out of memory” and had to run back to his car to pick up another piece of equipment.  During this time, I had been hiding in the bushes (sounds creepy, right?–but how else can I word it?), and when Stephen left, I walked up from behind to surprise her.  And, in one of the happiest moments of my life, she said yes!

We had Stephen come back to the field after the proposal to do an actual photo shoot of the two of us (see some of the pictures below–really quite incredible!).  I guess it turns out he’s almost as good a photographer as he is a videographer!  We’re currently planning a wedding for May 30, 2015 in Franklin, and we hope everyone can make it.  7 months seems like a long time to wait, but hopefully that will give us time to plan while we’re both busy with school and work, and I hope that those of you who haven’t met her yet will get the chance to (though I think most of you already have).
