We have asked different Colombian friends how to view the elections today. Some say it is just another day and others say we should be careful where we go (which is what we think as well). We have tried to keep up on the news so it is interesting to hear our friends say it is just another day. Here is why- the military will be helping with security, hospitals have been put on alert, FARC has agreed not to interfere for a week, calls have been sent out to avoid violence. We have been in at least 3 other countries(including our own) during elections and none of these measures were taken. Here in the northern part of Bogota it is very safe but someone asked us to go visit someone today further south and we need to know how to decline without offending.
We are also very tired and have one more month here. There are many good things happening while also many situations are fragile.
Thank you for your prayers.

Praying!
You are in our prayers. Our 2014 midterm elections are VERY important and may determine whether we survive as the nation we have known and taken for granted. Thanks for your note. Dad
I’m praying…
Thanks for the update
Things were quiet on our side of town and there weren’t any problems reported. However there was not a clear winner so there will be a run off in June.
Glad there was no violence. Were the people offended that you couldn’t come?
