Brauer move update

by Woody on June 9, 2013

Several times in my life I’ve experienced what I call “loss of reference point”. For instance, when I was in the army I was posted to Vietnam. Travel there took almost 24 hours with two brief stops, one in Alaska and the other in Japan. Since I started the trip during daylight and it took 24 hours my body thought it should be daytime when I arrived. But it was night and furthermore since I crossed the international day line it was not the day I expected it to be too! I had lost my reference point with respect to time and date. Another way of describing this experience is when all your surrounding and events are different from what your used to. I thank the LORD that as a believer in Christ I have a reference point to my life that can never be moved! This is in part what I’m going through as we are in the midst of moving from Pennsylvania to Chattanooga. Sharon and I had a great week off Memorial Day weekend at our house in PA. We got a lot of things done but also enjoyed visiting and worshiping with friends in the Lord. Our first week back went so fast. It hardly seems like it was last Sunday we were traveling back to Lookout Mountain. While we have a foot in PA and another on Lookout Mountain not knowing how long this process will take we praise God for what He is doing and what we are learning trusting in him. We also pray that He will be glorified in our lives as we seek his will. We are also so thankful for the family and friends he has given us in both places.
In Christ,
Woody

I know it’s hard to be in two places at once. I’ll pray that the process goes very quickly for you. I suppose your experience is like what we as Christians should feel–we’ve got both feet hear on earth, but our citizenship is in Heaven.

Thanks for sharing your insights. Praying for you all… for endurance and for peace.

I understand this strange, and somewhat unsettling, place. It IS a comfort to cling to the God of our Salvation, who is working all things for our good and His glory. I will be praying.
