I’m in Atlanta waiting for my flight to Chattanooga. I didn’t get a lot of sleep on this trip but I think it was productive in terms of looking for a possible place to send the apprentices once they are finished with their training.
I met the apprentices from Colombia in Lima. We were joined by Mark Berry (son of the famous football player Raymond Berry) who is planting a church in Lima. He took us around and set up some meetings for us the Peruvian leaders. He had asked me to preach at his church on Sunday. Just as I got up to preach a horn siren went off (car alarm) right outside. The place we were meeting has openings to the outside without windows. So it was very loud. I began praying, asking the Lord to protect us from the evil one, and immediately the siren stopped. Thankfully! It seems the Lord used my message to encourage people. I especially noticed that it encouraged Mark.
Then we flew to Arequipa, up in the mountains. It’s the second largest city in Peru. A colleague and good friend of mine—Keith Powlison—met us there and showed us around. He lives and ministers in Cusco, so it was an 8 hour drive for him to get to Arequipa.
I already told you about my adventure getting home.

We prayed for the fog to lift so the plane could take off. A bit later Phyllis called to say that you got off the ground and were in Lima. We are glad that you are home and wil be praying for your ministry Sunday i Greenville, SC. Dad

It is good to have you back. Your adventures seemed to start before you even left and I feel like you came back on a prayer(actually many prayers). Glad the Lord gave you these opportunities.

Thanks for the link Gary. I especially appreciate the “one day if we could look back” heavenly perspective in your conclusion. If we really believe in the finished work of Christ and our hope of heaven is certain, than we can obey him now and be confident in our testimony to others based on the full reality of whats yet to come. We can be praying for each other that God would strengthen our faith in Jesus and give us opportunities to “hasten his day”.
