Our Groundhog Year

Our Groundhog Year…
One year ago today, I found out that I was losing my job with an employer here in Nashville. Since then…
I spent several months unemployed, took a position in Oklahoma, sold our house here in Nashville, lived in a hotel in Oklahoma for several months while Janice and the girls lived with family, had our belongings shipped to Oklahoma, bought a house in Oklahoma, lost the job in Oklahoma, got out of the contract in Oklahoma, took a temporary position back here in Nashville, Emily transferred colleges twice, James was going to graduate school and then moved back home, lived in a 2-bed apartment for 3 months with the family and no belongings (still all in Oklahoma), found what I hope is a more permanent position here in Nashville, bought a another house back here in Nashville (Franklin, TN), Janice got her old teaching job back, Linnea is re-enrolled in her old (same) school, we got our belongings back from Oklahoma this week, and we moved into our house today. It all started exactly one year ago today. Whew! What a busy year! I don’t want to be like Bill Murray and live this year over again. I actually like change, but I think we’ve had our quota for a while. But, God is good, all the time! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and thoughts through this difficult season.

Glad to hear you are moved in and have your belongings. Someday we may understand God’s purpose is this year of extreme upheaval. But if not, as you say, we believe God is good.
Whew! You have been through a lot. It’s a testimony to me that after all that, you can still say that God is good.
Yay! I’m glad you are in a house now! Can’t wait to see it in person!
So glad to hear about getting your stuff. We have been praying that you would get it soon. So glad you are back in town.
I’m back “online”. We got internet today. I love the house. I can’t wait to get organized.
In the kind of job I have I sometimes joke ‘flexibility’ is my middle name. Your family’s experience in the past year has taken this concept off the charts! Welcome home!
I am so glad that the Lord has given you a time to get settled and rest from all that change!
