The McCarty’s officially live in Tennessee now, Johnson City to be precise! We’ve been here a little over a month now and we’re starting to feel settled. Drew’s uncle inherited his Grandmother’s house and is letting us live in it for reduced rent. The house is an old family house, Drew’s great, great (?) Grandfather built it in 1912, so it’s 100 years old this year! It’s a great place but still full of his grandmother’s things and in desperate need of fixing and cleaning. We’ve really enjoyed the process so far, pulling up carpet, tearing down wall paper, kicking out the mice and chopping down the jungle of a yard! The place fits our personalities perfectly though, old with lots of character!
Drew started a new job as soon as we got here. He’s working at the hospital in the ER taking patients information and insurance details. So far he’s enjoyed the work although we are trying to adjust to his schedule as he’s working from 8:30 pm to 7:00 am. I also have been working at Olive Garden here in Johnson City. It’s been fairly easy to jump in as nothing is really different, and so far I’ve only been working 10 – 15 hours over the weekend.
Winter is doing great! She just had her four month check-up not long ago, she’s small but healthy. She rolled over for the first time the other day, and is now able to grab anything within her reach and stick it straight in her mouth!
I know this is way early, but Drew and I were talking and would love to volunteer to host Thanksgiving this year. I don’t know if anyone has plans yet or not, just wanted to throw that out there!

Yes, we’d love to see pics of your house, and getting together for Thanksgiving is great wherever we do it.
I am loving having them close. I get to babysit at least once a week when Drew and Lissa’s work schedule conflicts!!

Thanks for the update! I am also glad that you were able to find jobs so quickly, as it seems there are still many people struggling to find jobs.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been four months since Winter was born–how time flies! I’m so glad she–and all of you–are doing well!
