Update and Request for Prayer

by Jannylynn on March 7, 2012

David started his job in Oklahoma on Monday.  So far he feels it is more technical than he hoped.  He spent one day going to visit clients with the sales guys.  He was surprised at just how small these companies are.  He’s wondering how they would even need what he does. Please pray for him.  He says it just doesn’t feel right.

He is also very sick.  The allergies there are bad due to a combination of dry weather, high winds, and blooming trees.  His nose won’t stop running, though he took benadryl.  David went to an urgent care place after work.  Both his ear drums had burst, he had a 102+ fever, and the doctor said he’d never seen a throat as swollen as his.  He’s miserable.

Thanks.

What treatment did they prescribe for him? We will be praying. It seems very unusual for an adult’s eardrums to burst. Did he fly there? If he did, did he have trouble in the plane? How was his blood pressure?

Phyllis I’m not sure about the prescriptions. I know one is a nasal antihistamine, which David said was not working. I did not ask about his blood pressure.

He drove to Oklahoma.

Maybe he can answer these things when he can get internet access. He’s not allowed to be on the internet at work and his hotel room doesn’t have it. So he has to go down to the lobby when he wants to use internet.

David ended up staying “Home” from work Thursday and Friday. He said his fever broke this morning. He is feeling weak and shaky, but he sounds a little better.

Thanks for the prayers everyone. I am feeling somewhat better, though still still tired and weak. I am also very congested and thus, lightheaded. it’s still to early to tell whether I will like (or get the hang of) this new job. I am still learning how their current software systems work and the context into which the solutions I will develop must fit.

This week, I received calls from recruiters for two other jobs that I applied for months ago, one of which is clearly a better fit. I am feeling both conflicted and distracted in applying myself to this job. I am uncertain as to what God is doing but seeking His word and praying. I appreciate your continued prayers.
