Saw this article by Al Mohler, reformed leader of Southern Theological Seminary in Louisville, about Rick Santorum. Since I voted early today, I throught it was particularly timely. Thought I would share it with you.

Very interesting.
It seems that Mohler is questioning whether moral conservatives should vote for Santorum since it is highly likely that Santorum is unelectable (according to Mohler). However, Mohler doesn’t seem to offer any solutions and resigns himself to the status quo, from what I can tell. Am I interpreting the article fairly? He could have suggested, for example, that Christians join together to pray for a greater fear of God in our country.
Seth, I don’t take Dr. Mohler to mean that HE believes Santorum is unelectable, but that many beleive he is unelectable because he actually believes and lives what he says. Dr. Mohler is a social conservative who would be quite aligned with Santorum. I also believe that Dr. Mohler believes that Santorum faces a tough road of scrutiny by the Republican establishment and a pounding by the liberal elite.
It was a very good article. It is so discouraging that a large percentage of the American culture find Biblical values outdated. However I think also that the media elite want us to think there are more who think the Bible is outdated than there are and intimidate people by, in more than one way, saying “You still believe that?” The media elite have never read the Bible I think and obviously don’t know God’s goodness.
I like how Santorum is so consistent and that it seems like we can believe what he says is what he really believes.
Mohler’s article is very interesting. It certainly makes him more appealing to me as a candidate. However, the results of Super Tuesday seem to suggest there are not enough people comfortable enough to vote for him.
By the way, did you know that some of Romny’s ancestors moved to some part of México? There was a video on the BBC (in Spanish, at least), saying how he has distant relatives in México. Apparently they moved there to flee from persecution for their mormon beliefs.
