Job Search Update

by David on January 22, 2012

Wanted to let you all know where we are in the job search process, so you could no how to pray.

1. Still no opportunities in Nashville: Please pray that God might still make something available.

2. Houston Insurance Co.: I have had two rounds of interviews, one in Houston, one in Manhattan. Looks like I may get an offer. One more of inetrviews in Houston and a house hunting trip. Lost of travel with the job (international) and don’t really want to move to Houston – even though I have a brother (with whom I am closest) who lives there.

3. Leaving for St. Louis in an hour for two days of interviewing and testing with Panera Bread. I had several phone interviews and they seem interested in me. I’ll know more Tuesday night. I like this job about the best.

4. I get back late Tuesday night and have to get up at 3:30 Wednesday to fly to Oklahoma City (via Houston) for an interview with a Technology firm. It’s not an HR job, it’s a product development job (they sell HR solutions). They seem interested, so we’ll see.

5. Thursday I have three video interviews: One with a firm in Dallas, one with a firm in Greensboro (that would require 60% travel to the far east – not really looking forward to that), and one with a company in California that might allow me to live somewhere in the Southeast (it’s an HR solutions company as well).

6. Next week I fly to Greenville, SC to interview with a Regional Bank. (Not sure how I feel about another Bank).

7. Still waiting to hear from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital (the job I wanted the most because it involved teaching at the University of Cincinnati. (But the date to hear from them has come and gone – so I may be out of the running).

So, lots of traveling. Lots to pray about. Pray mostly for stamina, for no missed flight connections, and that God would lead us to the right place.

David

Any chance we can meet up for a bit while you are in St. Louis? I have a meeting at 11:00 AM, but I could probably meet up with you for lunch. We could meet at panera:)

Seth, I know that Uncle David is having an interview over lunch today. They have him in continuous meetings until the end of the day. He drove there, so he will head back as soon as the interviews are over. He has to get up at 3:30 tomorrow morning to catch a 5:30 flight. Sorry.

Update: Didn’t get the St. Louis job. Disappointed because I liked that one. Phone interview with Louisville tomorrow. Flying to Manhattan for third live interview for Houston job (Tuesday). Flying to Greenville, SC for interview with regional bank on Thursday. Fly to Louisville next week. Got an offer from the OKC job (need to make a decision on that one).

Thanks for your prayers.
