Well, Nathan and I (micah) took turns snapping photos of Philip in action. We had the camera set on “Sport” mode, so we were able to snap many pictrues in a short amount of time – we wanted to make sure we caught the action. So we took plenty of photos. It was certainly fun to watch him/you(Phillip). Here are some of them (they appear in chronological order and Philip is #12)…

I think this was Philip’s first touch down…
I think it’s a lot of fun to watch Philip play. It occured to me that he’s kind of like a cheetah running after its prey – fast, agile, deadly. Philip has an eye for where the prey is and will be and you can almost see the intesity of his attention on the prey. You can get an idea of this in a series of six, rapid-fire shots I took of Philip as he rushed into the end zone (from the ten-yard line) to catch a fumble and score a touch down. I strung all six pictures into one (you may have to click the image below to see the whole picture)…

The only U.S. flag around was across the street at the AMSouth Bank – this was the flag we saluted during the national anthem (Philip is right below the flag)…

When we first got to the field, we were wondering how we would find out which number was Philip’s, when, all of sudden, we spot him on the field by his unmistakable stance – something like this, except with one had on his hips…

We commented on the sidelines how Phillip never once took off his helmet…except at the end of the game (does anybody else think Philip looks a little like Christopher Reeves in this picture?)…
You played a very good game Philip and it was great to watch you. Keep us updated on when your games are (on this blog, for instance) so that we can come to every game possible.

About half-way through the game the Mountaineers started playing their B team, so Philip didn’t get to play much after that.

David – it’s probably closer for you to go to a “home” game in Abingdon (3 hrs) than it is to go to Chatt. He has home games on Sept. 15 & 22. He also has a game close to you in Winston-Salem on Oct. 13. That will probably be the most important game of the regular season, and determine whether they go to the conference championships or not.
Let us know the particulars. We will try to go.
