Return home

by phyllis on January 11, 2012

We arrived at home today at 2:30 PM. (Micah was able to come to Wilmington for 24 hours and returned home yesterday.) We left yesterday after the burial and luncheon Mom’s church had for the family. We stayed overnight at Alan and Janie’s (thank you so much)then finished the journey today. We all return to work tomorrow and Seth is deciding when to return to St Louis. We are all tired and pondering the last few days. Overall it was positive and everyone was so kind. Many wonderful things were said about my Dad ( I am sure he would have been embarrassed) and through various ways the gospel was shared. We pray for its effects in all of our lives and in those that attended. The burial was special as there was an honor guard from the Veterans of Foreign Wars who performed a gun salute and taps. They then presented the flag that had been draped over the casket to Mom and said words of thanks. They collected the casings from the bullets and gave them to us so we each have one.
Thank you for your prayers. They were needed and appreciated. I would like to ask for continued prayer for my Mom as she thinks about what she wants to do. For now she wants to continue at home although we have all invited her to visit/stay with any of us.

I’m sure you all are tired. I will continue to pray for your mom, Phyllis. Seth is welcome to stay on his way back if he desires.

It was a good trip, though tiring, indeed.
