City Museum

by sejwa on August 29, 2006

Last Saturday some of the physics graduate students took the new graduate students to a famous “museum” in St. Louis called the City Museum. I say “museum” because it is more like a giant playground. It is in a large building that used to be a shoe factory. The playground pieces are made from junk and leftover construction materials, which I think is donated to the museum. Outside there is an old plane 50 feet or more above the ground that you can climb up to. I thought it was AWESOME and I would go again. There are so many nooks and crannies to explore and crawl through. Micah, I think that you would love it. I didn’t take as many pictures as I had planned to take because the sometimes the camera wouldn’t work. Here are a few pictures, which unfortunately are not very representative of the place.

These pictures should be bigger. I had some difficulty uploading and posting the pictures because the internet connection I am using is so slow. I will try to send better pictures with captions tomorrow when I am on campus (they have faster computers on campus)

Imagine…the city museum might even be better than climbing a tree?! So when is your next break, Seth?
