We have reserved some rooms at the Baymont Inn and Suites on Frontage Rd in Augusta. Phone number is 706-855-6060. You need to mention that it is with the Waldecker-Zboran wedding party and you reserve it with your credit card. We reserved them for Thursday, June 23 through Saturday June 25 (checkout June 26). Of course you can do just one night if that is what you want. If you want more than the 3 nights you would have to see if they will give you the same rates. The hotel has a pool. It is about 15 minutes from the church. There are restaurants at that exit and there are plenty more just 3 miles to the next exit. All of the rooms come with microwave and refrigerator. (They don’t come unless you ask for it so I did for all of them but it is no extra charge.) All rooms are non smoking.
Here are the rates ( you have to add in a 13% tax plus $1 per room per night secondary tax)
$69 for King or 2 queens
$89 for suites- it has a separate bedroom and is not just a big room. (Might be especially useful for those with small children)
The reservations need to be made before May 23. After May 23 they will not guarantee the rates above.
We are attaching a spread sheet that shows some other hotels at the same exit or the next with the rates we found, including group rates if some of you want to stay somewhere else or go together and get a different group rate.
My sisterLinda had found a cheaper rate online at the Baymont for seniors (55 and older) so I called the sales person I dealt with and she said that weekend is very busy and she claims we are getting the lowest rate that whatever else we were quoted was not true. So, if you want to call on your own ( and not mention the wedding) and see if they will give you a lower rate that would be interesting. If they do, be sure to tell them afterward that you are part of the Waldecker-Zboran group because they blocked off some rooms for us.
