Snow in the South

by Gary on January 10, 2011

We have about 9 inches of snow so far. I don’t think we’ll get much more, but it is snowing a little right now. How’s everyone else faring?

We have around 5 inches over night and it remains cold. No melting today and not until to morrow after noon. Dad

also – our boys were involved in an accident on the way back to Dordt – they are all fine, but the car isn’t drivable – ran off the road in a snowstorm by an 18 wheeler just north of Kansas City. They have a rental now, and will complete their trip tomorrow. Continue to pray for them…

Sorry to hear about that Alan. We will pray. Did Phillip get the funding he needed? We have about 3.5 inches now. I did something I haven’t done in years. I took off work and played in the snow with the girls all day. We went to a park with big hills and did some great sledding. Had a great time.

The forecast for Reamstown is 3 to 6 inches starting Tuesday evening. It has been consistently cold here too. Considering how the weather has been of late I recommend snow shovels.

We are getting 3 -6 inches of snow here in St. Louis. I’ll pray that the boys make it Dordt safely. Getting pushed off by an 18-wheeler must have been pretty scary.

I got 9 1/2 at my house. It has been a two day process trying to clear my driveway. The office was closed yesterday, and opens at 10AM today for those who can safely travel in. I have not yet determined if this applies to me.

Snow everywhere! It is really coming down again. This time we are getting the Midwest storm.

It snowed off and on this morning too. Today we took out our shovels and cleaned off the end of the road coming into our neighborhood. That was the main barrier to us getting out and off the mountain. Four wheel drives had been able to get out, but we tried it and started sliding off the road. So after the clean-up we were able to get out. It’s still a little precarious getting out of our driveway, but doable.

Its been snowing here too. But we finally went to school today. The schools for our county and for Nashville are still out as of TOMORROW!

Our kids were out for an entire week. The snow (as usual) just kept trickling day after day until we had 6-8 inches. Hopefully they finally have a full week of school ahead of them this week! They spent a lot of the afternoon today sledding and building a fort – in anticipation of it all melting this week.

We still have snow on the ground–enough to go sledding still.

It’s rather sad to watch snow melt 🙁

Most of our snow has melted. Still some in the shady areas and, surprisingly, some driveways are still solid ice. Nashville schools were out all last week. Our girls went on Thurs and Fri. Looks like we’re getting more snow this Thursday/Friday.
