Just thought I’d share a quick update from the job search front. Well, a few things are happening. First, I interviewed with Covenant arlier this month for an academic position. I think it went well, and I think the VP of Academic Affairs liked my backround, but he doesn’t seem to know exactly what he is looking for in the poistion and is not in a big hurry at all. In addition, I had an interview set up for yesterday with Belmont University for a similar postion. But they called and backed out of it. I was the one who kind of forced my way in there and they areen’t sure they know wheta they want to do either, so they are putting things on hold. That’s about it on the academic front. Although, if we are able to stay in Nashville, I am scheduled to teach two classes there this Fall.
On the business side, I am working on four things, one of which is in Nashville. The one in Nashville is with Dell. I have had two interviews with them so far and learned yesterday that I will have a third in Austin Texas (headquarters). I don’t know yet when I will be going there.
The next possibility exists in Memphis. I have interviewed twice on the phone with them and am going there a week from today to interview in person. The position is a good one, and they seem more interested in me than any other possibility. We are not terribly excited about moving anywhere and not sure how we feel about Memphis.
The third possibility is with a small, American Indian consulting firm in Oklahoma City. I travel there on 6/26 to interview. I have had two phone interviews already. At least we know the area and Emily’s best friend is there. But again, not too excited about moving that far away from family. Plus, the benefits aren’t all that great as it is a small, 17-person organization.
Finally, I am in the beginning stages of talks with a company in Charlotte. I am supposed to have asecond phone interview sometime next week, but not sure yet when. This is a really good position, and, if we had to move anywhere, would probably be more interested in Charlotte than the other two, present possibilities.
So, if I (we) had a choice our choices are in the following order (excluding Covenant because it seems such a distant possibility at this point). Dell (Nashville), Charlotte, Memphis, Oklahoma.
Please pray that God provides at least one or more of these soon, and that we might even be able to stay in Nashville.

Another update. I travel to Memphis next Thursday to interview there. Then I travel to Austin, TX on the following Monday to interview there. From there I go straight to Oklahoma City to interview there on Tuesday. Thanks for your prayers. Janice and I are both growing impatient.

Thanks for the update. You’ve been diligent in searching. The Lord will take care of you at the right time. Hard to understand why he hasn’t already, though.
