Called by your First Name

by Gary on June 17, 2010

I try to listen to sermons on my way to and from playing racquetball on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Here is a sermon by the late Edmund Clowney. I highly recommend it. If you’ve read his book Called to the Ministry (which isn’t just for preachers and such, but everyone should read it), you will already have an idea of what it says. But the sermon adds some things the book doesn’t say and is well worth listening to.

That was a great sermon, Dad. Thank you for sharing it. Do you have other sermons by Edmund Clowney?

The best collection I’ve found is at http://www.sermonaudio.com. They are free. You just have to sign up and let them send you emails now and then.
A sermon I liked even better than this one is called “Water from Bethlehem.”

I really liked the sermon, too. It’s cool to know that God knows us individually and gives us each different gifts, and that it is as we step out in faith that we figure out what those gifts are.

I enjoyed listening to this sermon. Edmund Clowney makes a good point, and the way he preaches reminds me of the great adventure we are on. He is also quite funny throughout. He seems to like to make people laugh 🙂
