Most people can function well on 7-8 hours of sleep.
This past spring semester, I got about 8-9 hours of sleep every night, and I constantly felt tired the whole semester.
Toward the end of the semester, there were a few nights in a row where I got 10 hours of sleep, and I rediscovered what it felt like to be alert during the day.
Well, for about a week, I’ve been falling asleep late and getting up early, and right now I feel exhausted to the point of feeling sick. Last night, after about an hour of trying to sleep, I started feeling feverish (like that hot-and-cold-at-the-same-time feeling), so I made my parents turn off the TV, so I could sleep (I felt VERY guilty). But by then, I’d passed the point of no return, and I still couldn’t sleep.
I often have random nights of extreme wakefulness, and they usually take me about a week to recover from.
Please pray for me, as I have to take the ACT this Saturday, and I feel sooooooooooooo tired, finding it hard to sleep in this apartment.
Thanks,
Emily

So sorry, Emily! Tryptophan may help with sleeplessness. It’s homeopathic and you’d find it at a health food store. Will be praying for you!
How inconvenient and uncomfortable. I will pray for you, Emily!
Excitement and stress can cause one to be unable to get to sleep and stay asleep. I know for I had the same malady last week. The stress was from getting closed on a house that John & Rose were seeking to buy. Now that they have closed things seem more back to normal and I am sleeping better. So I will bw praying for you as you take your ACT. Grandpa Tom
I’ll pray! Sounds miserable.
We’ll try to help you get more sleep Emily. It doesn’t help that Nashville is in Central time (when it should be in Eastern) and the sun comes up before 5am. And that’s AFTER we Sprang forward!
I will be praying for you.
We will be praying.
Thank you, everyone. The last few nights I’ve slept much better!
