Congrats Lissa!

by Alan on June 6, 2006

Melissa passed her driving test today. She was very nervous, but did well. She is free to drive on her own now, which will be a real help to us. It not only gives us another driver, but cuts our time (taking her to and from work) and petrol budget significantly. I read recently that it takes on average 45 professional lessons to pass this rigorous test. And Lissa did it in 4 or 5. Way to go! Now for Janie…her test date is scheduled for the end of June.

thanks guys! yeah it was really nerve-racking. fortunately it was early in the morning so i could sleep through most of the anxiety!:) i am so happy i’ve got it now though. i know it’ll wear off, but i love driving around by myself! work is going great audrey. we’re starting up a whole new menu in the next few weeks, which would run the whole day instead of just dinner like it does now. very exciting, but lots of work and time – but now i can drive myself there and back and not worry about getting done before my lift home! hope everyone is well…

Congratulations! Do you find it hard to remember your way around, living in another country?

i have a hard time with directions as it is. i think i have as much trouble getting around here as i would in the states! one difference is that i do know how to walk almost anywhere in manchester – i couldn’t drive around, but i could get anywhere walking. couldn’t really do that in the states.
