I just got back with the boys from our Dordt trip – 2800+ miles in a weekend! But it was well worth it. They both really loved it – the campus, the town, their meetings with academic advisers, the football stuff – it was all great and beyond their expectations. Philip met with the Engineering adviser, and was really excited about their courses. Caleb met with the Digital Media Production adviser – basically film making, writing, shooting, editing, etc. Their facilities are state of the art and really excited him. The football coaches were great and welcomed the boys openly. Caleb is already slated to be playing safety – something he was hoping for. And Phil for receiver. Philip will be playing on the practice squad for the first year (academic probation from junior college grades here (: Some interesting things we saw there…they have their own bowling alley on campus – an indoor pool with slides – their own hockey arena – Here are some picts we took…

Looks very nice!
Awesome! Sounds great. I’m excited for you guys!
According to google maps, the college is 38 miles from Ellsworth, MN, and 41 miles from Luverne, MN. Our ancestors lived near both of these cities in the 1890’s.
Very cool, I’m excited for both of you! I especially like the picture of Caleb signing for the football team… with two college football players, we are indeed in the presence of greatness. 🙂
I’m excited for them!
It is good that your trip was so successful. When will the boys be heading in that direction? We will be praying that all works out well. Dad
The boys need to be back there around August 10.
Wow, very exciting!
Woohoo! That is so cool! What a lovely thing to find out that the place you want to study really is the place you want to study–and play football!
What exciting opportunities!
Awesome! Glad you found a college you both like! Congrats on getting the position you wanted, Caleb!
This is great! Congratulations to all! I liked seeing the pictures and article on Dordt’s site. I think you all are gonna wanna take a position in Iowa (or somewhere in the Northern Plains) so that you all can see them play on Saturdays. All their games are in the Northern Plains and 2800 miles is a long way to travel to see a football game.
