Chinese Spring Festival

by sejwa on February 26, 2010

In January one of my Chinese friends asked me if I would perform in the Chinese Spring Festival celebration being organized by the Chinese student group at Washington University. I agreed to do so and decided to sing and play on the guitar “Morning Has Broken,” which is a Christian hymn but is also fairly well known even outside of the church ( probably because of Cat Stevens ). The actual celebration was last Sunday.

One of the lines says “Praise for the singing, praise for the morning, praise for them springing fresh from the Word.” So, before I started I explained what the “Word” means and read John 1:1-4. Before the festival started I met someone who offered to take some pictures of me and then send them to me, so I have posted those pictures. The festival was also filmed, and the one of the organizers said they would send me a clip with me performing. I will post that when I get it.

That sounds like a lot of fun, and a great opportunity to share the Gospel!
