New theme

I changed the theme of this blog because the other one was quite old and not capable of handling the latest technologies. You as the user might not notice some of these technologies, but they make designing the site the way you want it easier. A blog theme has mostly to do with the look of the blog and with how easy it is to make different add-ons available. This new theme is one that I purchased (in the past I’ve always used free themes), and I like it because it is very flexible. You can pretty much make it look however you want.

Some of the more visible changes include:

1. Three columns instead of two
2. The rotating picture is on the right instead of on the left
3. If you want to edit an existing post, the edit link is now at the top of the post instead of at the bottom
4. Slightly different color scheme
5. The Pages are now located in two dropdown tabs at the top (About and Family Info)
6. The links to the categories can now be found in a dropdown list located in the left sidebar instead of spread across the top
7. What used to be the Return button is now the Home tab at the top left. Also, clicking on the title “The Meeting Place” will also bring you to the “home” page.

Unless you have an old monitor, the width of the blog should fit in your screen without you having to scroll right and left.

The theme does not affect the “back end” of the blog. In other words, the place you create new posts remains unchanged by the theme.

So let me know what you like or don’t like about how I currently have it arranged. Or if you have any suggestions. I tried to give it a look that is similar to what we had before.
