Hello Everyone! I’m sorry it took so long to post an update, but here we are! I’m glad to say that Drew and I (and Jack) are pretty much settled into our new apartment. As you can see from the picture, it is a one floor apartment and we’re attached to another apartment… not sure of the technical name there. We arrived here the very end of July and were told by our landlord that if we wanted to save a few bucks on rent we could clean and paint the place for him and we were happy to do so. Well we didn’t realize what we had agreed to, and neither did the landlord! The place was an absolute mess, really unlivable! We spent the first week absolutely blasting the place. We also called an exterminator right away because in the evening we had loads of unwanted guests, the dryer vent had been left open to the outside! Anyways, we’ve cleaned, painted and repaired and thanks to all the parents, the place looks great! We unpacked our last box last night and are only short a couple of things. Hooray!
In other news, Drew started classes at RTS. He has six classes spread over four days, mostly in the morning or early afternoon. They seem to be going okay. Because he’s taken classes online and been to RTS during the summers, he could technically finish up this year, but for financial reasons we’re going to spread it over two. He also got hired to serve at a restaurant called Thai Basil part time. Funny story actually, he was only calling the restaurant to see if they were hiring for me, and through a series of events ended up getting hired himself!! I am still looking for work! 🙁 I’ve mainly applied at restaurants and seem to be getting the same reaction from everybody, “we love you but we financially can’t hire anyone right now”! I have had an interview at one place that is brand new and opening up this month, I have high hopes for working there but they’re still not sure when they’re going to open. So I keep looking. Let’s see we’re still looking for a church. We found one in Winter Park called City Church that we like, but have a few more we want to look around at before we decide.

Sorry forgot to explain… the first bedroom pictures are of the spare bedroom. The ones at the bottom are our bedroom.

You both did a great job on the apartment–it looks really nice! I can see the black, white and red theme coming out in the kitchen 😉 I will pray for a job for you, Melissa. I have been thinking of you both and praying for you as you transition. It is lovely to hear from you!
