O God my Father hear my words, I pray
For one You made so many years ago.
My earthly Father’s birthday is today
And I do wish to thank You for him so!

At Eighty-two his health is very good!
No medication goes into that man,
except for all the supplements with food
to keep him healthy is the long term plan.

At marriage You have blessed him twice – a bride!
Companionship in life has blessed him sure.
A friend and helper always at his side,
No loneliness for long did he endure.

He lives in comfort, peace and joy, and too
He demonstrated working hard and well.
He demonstrated faithfulness to You,
And through hard times he trusted You as well.

This man of eighty-two prays daily for
His children and their needs. He loves, indeed!
And anytime they have a need or care,
He faithfully responds to all their need.

I likely do not comprehend all that
he’s done for me; his sacrificial part
to give to me; the pain his heart has felt
and how his prayers for me have reached Your heart.

The best gift my dad gave to me was this:
The knowledge of the Great Creator God!
From childhood truth of God I could not miss!
So bless my dad for how on earth he trod!
