Now I have entered a new adventure of learning. Today was the first day of classes. I had German and Roots of Dutch Neo-Calvinism. I believe I am going to like them! It is rather funny and sad at the same time in my “Roots” class, because there are 13 people in the class and the room is very large! To make it funnier, the students sit scattered about to make a marked contrast between smallness of the group and the largeness of the room. I also learned today that one of my good friends will also be in that class! She is from New Jersey.
There are only 7 of us students in the German Conversation class. I suppose that is a large group for an upper level German class, because our teacher, Mr. Tom Neiles, was quite enthusiastic about being pleased with the largeness of the class. For this class we have to read “The Metamorphasis” by Franz Kafka, in which the narrator turns into a bug 😮 I am not really looking forward to this book. Oh well, as long as I learn more German!

A narrator turning into a bug? Interesting.
We read an excerpt of Kafka’s Metamorphosis in literature class in high school awhile back… I also remember it being weird, and kind of grotesque. Hopefully you’ll run into some better passages 🙂
I’m glad for your new classes and hope you enjoy learning from them.
Thanks! I’ll try to remember to tell you how it goes.
