Judy suggested we look into Fairhaven Ministries as a place to have a family get together. It is located in Roan Mountain, TN. They give a special price to those involved in full time ministry. They have cottages and a central meeting place. You pay a per night fee for the cottage for two people and an additional 3 dollars a night for each additional person. There is also a per night fee for use of the meeting place–two dollars a person. Here are the costs for two scenarios (due to some unknowns) for the dates January 3-4, which are available.

Would we check out on the 5th or 4th? Which two nights exactly? Sounds like a great idea. Some of us may have to be at work bright and early on the 5th.
I will need/want to be back at Stony Brook by January 2nd (or 3rd at the latest)–but I could certainly be present in spirit (and possibly virtually through video chats!)!

Actually, we had asked about the 3rd, 4th and 5th. The idea had been to arrive on the 3rd and leave on the 5th.
I think those dates will be fine with me, although I’m flexible.
David had to be at work on the 5th, so we would have to leave the 4th. Could we arrive the 2nd and leave the 4th?

Well, let’s look into other possibilities. One would be to meet here at our house. That could be sometime between Christmas and New Years. Because of the cold we would be able to make the same good use of the front porch that we did in the summer, so that could be a limiting factor.
I think this place and time are fine. As long as people are OK with some of us leaving late in the day on the 4th. I could see if I can take off the 5th.
We would rather see if there is a time in which Micah could participate.
