The boys will play in the semi-finals this Friday at 5:30 in Nashville (the same place in Antioch that you came last time, Nathan).  If they win, the state championship game will be the following Friday here in Bristol.

I hope you guys make it to the finals. James is competing in a collegiate gymnastics meet at Va Tech in Blacksburg on that Sat. Maybe we could come to Bristol on Friday, see the game and then head up to Blacksburg.

Congratulations, guys! I hope you make it to the finals!

Has James enjoyed Gymnastics again?

That is cool, James! Was it hard to get back into gymnastics physically?

The boys won 36-0. The State championship will be this Friday in Bristol, VA. Not sure of the details, but am assuming 7ish. We just got home and it’s 3:00 – so I’ll tell you about it tomorrow. Especially an AMAZING play by Slick.

This was Slick’s amazing play. With 3 seconds left in the game, Hendersonville was trying to avoid a 30-0 shutout, and attempted a field goal. Slick raced in, plucked the ball off the tee before it was kicked, and ran it back 90 yards for a touchdown.

Very 😎 play! I’ve never seen anyone do that before.

I asked the coaches last night, and no one else had ever heard of it happening before either.

Wow!! I have never heard of that before either. I think we will try to come, at least for the first half. Then we have to go to Blacksburg.

I don’t get why you played Hendersonville, if it was in Antioch. Do Caleb and/or Josh play most of the game?

BTW, I am watching an awesome Texas Tech team give #1 Texas all they can handle.

The game was hosted by Lighthouse (who played the second semi-final). We will face them in the finals. Even though they are undefeated, we were able to talk them into letting us host it, since we have already made 3 trips to Nashville this year, and only 1 Nashville team has come our way. I’ll let you know when I find out for sure the start time for the game. Caleb plays all the time, Josh rarely. Caleb is the leading tackler on the team (he and Slick have been fighting over that stat – and are both double the nearest tacklers in totals).

Gary, are you guys coming?

Gary November 6, 2008 at 6:01 pm

We were planning to go, but then we figured out that, given the time we could leave, we would be going through Knoxville at high traffic time, which means that we would probably get there an hour late. Then Audrey remembered she has a commitment tonight. So our plans have changed. We were looking forward to going, but we decided to stay here.
