We just wanted to let you all see an excerpt from a prayer letter we will be sending out later today..

As most of you know, our support account has been dwindling over the past few months. The tough US economy has made it a huge challenge to live and work here. My recent trip to the States has seen some increase in giving. But so far it’s not enough to make up the deficit. This month our support account finally ran out of funds. We are still hopeful that God might yet provide – he does seem to work that way. But we have also had to come to grips with the possibility that we might have to return. This is a very difficult decision for us, since we feel that we are just now beginning to understand how to minister in this culture. And even more difficult, we are finally beginning to pull together the pieces of the puzzle that will allow us to do the heart of what we came to do – plant a church here in Manchester while training someone to be the church planter. The bottom line at this point is that we need to have another $2000 per month pledged by the end of summer, or we will likely need to permanently return to the States.

We would really appreciate your prayers for us as we seek God’s leading and provision. We want to be faithful to God’s calling. We are convinced there are critical things that need doing here that will simply not happen if we are not around. But we also know that God can use us anywhere. So we want to be humble and teachable as well.

Please pray that we will see God’s hand in our lives – that we will be filled with expectant faith – and that we will know how best we can serve to bring about the extension of his Kingdom.
