On Wednesday night we had a fire in the basement. John and his wife Rose had been out riding his motorcycle. They got home somewhere around 8:00 p.m., put the bike in the garage. At about 10:30 we heard an explosion and then several more explosions. Examination found the motorcycle on fire and flames licking the ceiling. John was able to grab a fire extinguisher and get the fire out. Of course at once we called 911 and the firemen came. They stayed about an hour checking here and there to make sure that there were no other hot spots. They also hooked up a large blower and put it at the front door and one room at a time they blew lingering smoke out. Things in the boat garage are s bit messy, all the walls and ceiling and everything else covered with oily soot. But by today most of the smoke smell is gone. We are very thankful to God for causing the explosions when He did, a bit later and the whole house would have been in flames. Dad & Judy
