Just the two of us!

by Woody on February 18, 2008

At Christmas time Sharon and I planned on taking a weekend away when the opportunity presented itself and that was last weekend when the girls were off on a weekend youth retreat and skiing trip. We were a little concerned we would not be able to go because of our illness (bug) but we revived in strength and spirit. Our last time away I filled up our time with things to do and places to go. This time we decided there would be no schedule and no structure. This was a bit hard to do, especially since I found out I lost the adventure gene somewhere. I also had the fear of not pleasing my wonderful wife. We also didn’t want to go far from home and waste time getting somewhere. Well, our first night was spend only 5 minutes from home since due to my illness I had to finish up some work before we could leave. Still, it was good for both of us to be out of the house and free to do what ever we wanted. It has been a long time since we were just the two of us and we actually began to talk at a deeper level than the urgent matters of the day. All in all our weekend away was really good. I was reminded of the wonderful wife the Lord gave me and I praise God for a relaxing time.
