We had a fun day here in England. We started our festivities a bit late (10:30), as Philip has been working nights. The highlight of the day was our special family gift – a Wii. The kids have been lining up all day to take turns playing. We had our traditional sour cream twists for breakfast (along with bacon and eggs and sausages and hash browns). We managed to skip ahead to a ham dinner (along with butterhorn rolls) 7 hours later for our only other meal. We miss you all, and look forward to being able to spend more time together in the coming days. Have a happy Christmas!

We miss you all too! We sent some butterhorn rolls to Eric in Florida since he was unable to join us. We had Adam & Kristen and Family stay with us along with Nathan. Christmas was celebrated over the whole weekend. We exchanged gifts on Sunday night (the tree is still up) and went to the Christmas eve service Monday. On Tuesday we slept in and played Settlers of Catan and watched a movie. In summary it was time with the family. Christmas is particularly a family celebration, for those in the “family” of Christ. I know many who are not in that family and I pray they may see our genuine joy and that it will stir their hearts to seek our God.

I am so glad you both had wonderful Christmas’!
I’m glad you all had a good Christmas, too. I like the family aspect of Christmas, too.
What games did you get for your Wii?
The Wii console comes with a sports package – tennis, golf, bowling, baseball, boxing. The tennis and golf are the most fun. The golf is a bit like Mario golf. We’ve been playing lots of games – aunt Janie and I losing most of them!
Why are the tennis and golf most fun, I wonder? I am glad you are all enjoying it. It seems like it would be fun. How many people can play at once?
I have not been keeping up with “life” – email included. But I’m back from my “vacation”. We went to the Christmas eve service at church at 9 p.m. then opened presents on Christmas morning (after eating cinnamon rolls). Later we had a turkey dinner. We miss you all as well.
Sour cream twists sounds good! How do you make them?
It is my Mom’s recipe. Alan always makes them. They are a bit tricky—heating the butter and sour cream before adding the yeast—not sure. But I can send the recipe. Alan used to make them for church at Christmas. He would make enough to feed over 100. It was A LOT of work but everyone really enjoyed them and they were our Christmas gift to the church family.
I would love to try them. Thanks.
So, how many people need to shower after having played a wii bit? 😉 Sounds like you all had a pleasant Christmas. We miss you all!
