North Riverfront Park

by sejwa on September 23, 2007

Today I went to a riverfront park along the Mississippi (sp?) with three Chinese students from the physics department. A guy from New City Fellowship was going to come with me also, but something came up at the last minute that he had to attend to. We didn’t get to see as much of the river as much as we had hoped. There was thick brush and there were tall trees that blocked the view. The path is designed more for bikers. We still had fun though. The place was very peaceful. There are railroad tracks to the right of the trail, and while we hiked we saw three long trains pass by.

Very nice pictures, Seth. It looks like a lot of fun. You know, the grass along the side of the road is very pretty…Lately, Micah and I have become interested in different kinds of grasses. We just bought some “Purple Love Grass” and some “Switch Grass.”

Yes, I thought the grass was quite nice. Where are you going to plant the grasses? Where the bird feeder is?

I am glad that you were able to go and it looks like it was fun. How far did you walk?

I know Dihui. Are the other two first year Physic students? Didn’t one of them go to Chicago with you?

I think my favorite picture is the one with the grass and the train. I like the flowers too.

Are you learning Chinese, Seth?

the switch grass is now planted by the rock in our front yard, and the purple love grass will go by the water basin (that the Aldeckers made to control rain runoff). We’re also going to transplant the yucca plants to that location.

Looks like a very narrow road.
