Systematic Theology

by Jannylynn on January 25, 2006

I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this to anyone or not. Every year at our church 12 women are lead in a year-long Bible study. Part of it is a course on systematic theology and the other part I can’t remember. But I’ll find out because I’m one of those 12 women. I started last night. We’re using Systematic Theology by Gruden. Anyway, I’m looking forward to it. It will require time. So I guess I’ll be reorganizing my time in order to get this in.

You’re up to the task. I can’t wait until I have more free time for stuff like that. I led my first Community Group Bible study tonight. I guess it went OK.

I’ve heard it’s a good book. Long, thorough, biblical, and designed for the lay person. He graduated from Westminster.

It comes from the word “laity.” It means “the people” as opposed to the ordained ministers. Of course, from a biblical point of view, every believer is part of the laity, and every one is also a minister. But this is how the word is typically used.
