Today Micah and I felled a large tree in the field by our house. This was our first big tree.

Love the Pictures! Gary, you look very pleased with yourself! Micah looks like he’s saying, “I’ve conquered this one, which one is next?”

What kind of chainsaw do you have? Do you like it? Have you used it much?

It’s a Husqvarna 350, and I like it. I think Dad recommended Stihl but I couldn’t find any in our area. I’ve used it fairly often.

Will you take out the stump yourself?

I haven’t decided yet what to do about the stump.
You can turn the stump into an outdoor stool.
Nice pictures. Even better is the tree safely down.
But, why did you cut it down?
If it had fallen by it sself, and no one was around, would it have made a sound?
If a husband says something and his wife is not around to hear it, is he still in trouble?
We cut it down because it was dead.
Looks like fun!
There is evidence that there are birds using the stump as a place to perch and to look out–high up on Lookout Mountain 🙂
Oh, and last night Bumbalo was also using the stump as a place to sit 😀
It was so cute when Bumbalo was just sitting there. Hmmm…if he does it again maybe I’ll try and take a picture and put it on the blog.
