Pictures from St. Louis

by micah on March 18, 2007

Here are some pictures from our recent trip to visit Seth in St. Louis. Actually, almost all of these are from our visit to the St. Louis City Museum. Basically, this museum consists of an old factory building that has been filled with all sorts of interesting things (the pictures will probably give you the best idea of what it’s like). Adjacent to the building is a HUGE “playground” (well, really the whole museum is a playground 🙂 ) made entirely out of salvaged “junk.” My best description of it is that I became 10 years old all over again 😀

Here’s a wire-mesh hallway about 50-feet up. We’re going to that old airplane you see.

Here is Andrea crawling up underneath the airplane

Here is a picture of the airplain. Notice the wire-mesh tube you can crawl through off the airplane’s wing . . .

Here’s Dad walking through a tube towards a slide

This is the first (and probably ONLY) time I’ll see my dad run UP a slide 🙂

Which one is the real Phyllis?

Dad and Mom looking at their reflection?

Here we are!

“Monster Slide: One at a time; Feet first; Get out of the way at the bottom.” This slide is three stories tall/long!!

Dad in the monster slide. The colorful things are rollers – all the way down.

Mom in a tube along the ceiling!

This is 45-inch tall, 1.5-foot wide, and about 100 foot long tunnel. I liked it 🙂

115.JPG

It’s the cave of Wonders!

124.JPG

These are the old shoebox shoots of the old factory. One of these was converted into a slide about 2 stories tall.

139.JPG

There are plenty of things to climb on!

141.JPG

And hundrends of nooks and crannys to explore!

144.JPG

Plenty of places to run around (pun intended 😀 )

160.JPG

And plenty of way to get exhausted!

152.JPG

Then we can play some more!

164.JPG

We also attended the InterVarsity meeting that Seth goes to. Our family was warmly welcomed and (at least I, but I think) we all enjoyed it.

Here is a picture of Dijui and Hiromichi, two of Seth’s fellow physics students.

What a neat place! I agree, it does look like a place to be ten again!

I don’t remember looking at these pictures. They are great pictures. I especially like the picture of us four kids running around the in the “bowl”
