Home Again

by Woody on February 19, 2007

It was wonderful to see you all. We had a safe trip back. There were periods of snow squalls while on 81, slow traffic due to an accident at Winchester, we ran over a screw and got a flat tire, and our transmission light came on. but we made it back fine if somewhat late (about 11:30 PM) Thankfully, Woody discovered the flat while we were stopped for supper and didn’t have to try to change it along side the road somewhere.

This morning I was up before 6:00 to get ready for an all-day training session at work. The training was only marginally useful in an after school program, but since President’s Day is one of our paid holidays and we had to work, at least I got double pay for the day.

Woody was able to get our tire repaired. Now we’ll need to get out that transmission light and see what’s going on there. Like David and Janice, I’m sure, we’re not really looking forward to repair bills or car payments again, but I’m sure God will take care of us, no matter what.

Our van actually did OK the rest of the trip. I was very delicate in allowing it to shift from one gear to the next and it seemed to shift better than on Thursday and Friday. The light never did come back on. I’m kind of afraid to even have it looked at. Kind of want to let sleeping dogs lie.

Or, another euphamism (sp?) that fits is “I don’t want to poke the cobra”.

wow – car trouble galore! On the bright side of things, I suppose these are wonderful opportunities to trust in God’s provision and care 🙂

It was good to see you all again! Wish we could’ve seen Kristen and family, too.
