When I started working for Rock Creek Fellowship, I committed to working there for at least a year, which would end for me in May (my, how time flies!). I would appreciate prayer for wisdom in determining whether I should continue at Rock Creek or if I should move on to something else. Particularly, I would appreciate wisdom to know what kind of a “career” I should pursue.
I have been doing a good job and Rock Creek and I feel like I’m just now getting in the groove of things. I think I could continue to be a blessing to Rock Creek and particularly to the pastor, Eric Youngblood. The only thing is that I don’t think I want to be an administrator as a “career,” though I do enjoy the helpfulness aspect of my job.
Also, I need to find another/additional source of income. For the time being, it looks like I may be able to work for Covenant one day a week or so (maybe), and then one day a week doing transcriptions for my dad (I work three days a week Rock Creek).
Furthermore, I think I have finally realized that what I really want to do with my life is invest in other people. That’s very vague and broad, and I would appreciate prayer to know where/how God would have me do that. For starters, I think I’ll try teaching a Sunday school class at my church and I’m also considering helping out my church with the junior high youth groups. The possibilities are quite broad, and, it seems, that regardless of what I do, I will probably need to get a masters degree in something…I don’t want to go back to school, so that’s another prayer request 😀
P.S. Nathan, just so that you know, I haven’t yet mentioned any of this to Eric or the session yet.

I’ll be praying for you. I think whatever you do, you will do well and be a blessing.
There are many possibilities for helping others. We are praying with you about this. I think you would make a good Youth Pastor. Have you considered Cov. Seminary for such training? You and Seth could be roomies.
That would be fun!
Micah:
We will certainly pray for God to reveal his plan for you (Eph 2:10)in career choices. Serving others is a mind set and the second ‘great commandment’. As such it should be the foundation for all of our life. It seems to me your on good footing.
