So, Melissa, what did you do – what did you think about – during the 11 hours you were trying to get to work (or home)?

Oh, it was horrible! It was seriously my worst nightmare!
Yeah it was pretty obvious once i turned onto the motorway that i wasn’t going to get anywhere fast. Dad phoned me while i was just sitting there and said he thought that the road was closed ahead of me, but I didn’t really want to turn around until I knew for sure…since i was on my way to work. Anyways, by the time I really knew the road was closed I had already JUST passed the first exit and had been sitting for two hours. I called work and said there was no way and decided to get off at the next exit.
Well, I never made it. I got within 100 yards and I could tell my car was about to die. I was in the middle lane at the time, but since we weren’t moving at all, I couldn’t get over. So yeah I just sat their horrified without power! aahh! I was saying to myself “don’t cry, don’t cry”. hee, hee. Anyways, put my hazard lights on and this guy came over and helped me push the car onto the shoulder.
I then called my tow truck company, but since I had to be there with the car for it to get towed and there was no way he could get to me for hours I told him to forget it for now. So I then grabbed all my stuff, put a note on the windshield with my mobile number and walked off the motorway to meet Drew with his scooter at a Pizza Hut just off the exit.
It took him a long time even on his scooter weaving in and out of traffic to get there, and he went the back roads! I was a bit stressed out so we decided to make a date out of it. We went to the mall nearby and had dinner and watched the new Bond movie. It was midnight when we got out.
Drew can’t bring his scooter onto the motorway so we parked the scooter and started walking to the car. The traffic was gone and we were just about there when the Highway Traffic Control called us. They picked me up…only room for one person… and brought me to the car. I couldn’t get it started, although I was sure she was just mad at me and that nothing was really wrong. So they called the tow truck company for me and waited until it got there.
So I finally pulled back into home at one o’clock after leaving the house for work at two thirty! The car was fine, just a bit stubborn.
So yeah, does that answer your question! Blah, what a nightmare!
Wow! Amazing. I’m glad you didn’t have to sit in the car the whole time and that Drew was able to come to your rescue!
Wow, Lissa, that’s quite an experience!
Sounds like an adventure to me! Was it cold out? It seems like it would have been, but I hope it wasn’t! I am so glad you are ok, and that you and Drew could have some fun together!
I’m glad everything turned out ok.
I’m glad you were safe.
